Ingredients
¾ c. sugar
¾ c. shortening
2 eggs
¾ c. orange juice
4 ½ c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
Directions
Cream sugar and shortening, then add remaining ingredients and mix together well. Roll dough very thin (⅛ inch) on a floured board. Flour the rim of a glass and cut out circles. Spread your favorite filling in the middle of each circle. Fold up the edges together tightly, leaving a small opening in the center of the cookie where the filling can be seen. The cookie should resemble a tri-cornered hat. Put the Hamantaschen about 1 inch apart on a well greased cookie sheet and bake in a preheated 350° oven for 20 minutes.
