Ingredients
8 medium cooking apples, cored, peeled and quartered
½ c. water
4 inches stick cinnamon
¼ c. packed brown sugar
Apple (optional)
Directions
In a 3 quart saucepan, combine apples, water and stick cinnamon. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 20 minutes or until apples are very tender. Remove cinnamon. Press apples through a sleeve or food mill. Stir in brown sugar. Garnish with an apple slice, if desired. Makes 3 cups.
