Ingredients
2 egg whites
4 oz. sifted confectioners sugar
¼ lb. almonds
¼ lb. blanched almonds
¼ lb. pitted dates
Directions
Roughly chop dates and nuts. Beat the whites until they form still, glossy peaks; then beat in sugar, a tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff after each addition. Fold in nuts and dates. Drop in little heaps on a greased baking tin. Bake at 300° for 30 minutes, until crisp to the touch and pale gold. Makes 24.
